Growing up, I was a child with a highly active imagination and I guess you can say I loved personifying everything and pretending to go to magical, otherworldly places. I guess you can also say that never went away.
I began making jewelry in high school around 2006 and I noticed how wonderfully calming and fulfilling it was to sit and create something from just a mess of beads and metal. I remember giving one of my pieces as a gift for the first time and feeling so happy by their excitement that it was one of it's kind. That is where the spark of inspiration hit me.
I am a lover of old things; houses, forgotten objects, pictures, stories. I wanted to make those things into something wearable and give it life and meaning again. These beautiful objects should never die, but be reborn. In making these pieces, I found that it made them extra special that they could not be reproduced. Each one was one of it's own kind, just like humans. Each piece I make, I hope it finds it's soul mate, and the jewelry and the owner can bring out the unique features in one another.
